انجلترا التجارية فى عهده مع العالم الإسلامى بعد أن أعلن إسلامه ، وكتب على ديناره عبارات التوحيد الإسلامية.

هذا الملك العظيم تبدا معارفنا عنه منذ أن كان ملكا لمرسليا ، وكان واحدا من أعظم ملوكها ، وفى عهده سيطرت مملكته

مرسليا على كافة انجلترا المعروفة اليوم فاستحق بجدارة لقبى " ملك انجلترا" وملك كل بلاد الإنجليز" فضلا عن لقب "

 

 ملك مرسليا العظيم" .

وأوفا هو ابن عم للملك إيزالبالد الذى كان ملكا على مرسيليا قبل أوفا مباشرة ، وتعرض لمؤامرة أودت بحياته فى العام

757م .

عقب وفاة ابن عم أوفا انشغل الملك أوفا برأب الصدع الذى أصاب وحدة مرسليا على مدى سبع سنوات من توليته .

وقد نجح أوفا فى توحيد مملكة مرسليا والعمل على توسعتها ، حتى أن بعض ااساقفة والزعماء خططوا للثورة ضد أوفا

ونشبت بينه وبينهم معركة فى العام 774م صمتت جل المصادر عن نتائجها ..

وإن اعتبرها البعض أنها كانت نصرا حاسما للملك أوفا
وبعد هذه المعركة اتخذ الملك أوفا عدة قرارات تتلخص فى سلب اختصاصات رجال الكنيسة ، وتجريدهم من سلطانهم

تماما .

ثم اتخذ عدة إجراءات لم تحددها المصادر لكن وصفت بأنها " من الخطورة لدرجة أن البابوية اعتبرتها خطرا ماحقا هدد

انجلترا كلها بالخروج من حظيرة المسيحية ، والتحرر من سلطان البابوية"
ولا شك أن هذه القرارات الخطيرة تمثلت فى اعتناقه الإسلام وإصداره ديناره المشهور ذى عبارات التوحيد الإسلامية .
ونظرا لخطورة قرارات أوفا فقد تحالف البابا مع ملك كنت وحرضه على مهاجمة أوفا فى مرسليا ، ولكن عاجلهم الملك

أوفا بعد أن علم بالخبر وهزمهم هزيمة ساحقة كما اشارت الوثائق فى بداية عام 785م ، واكتسح بعدها كنت ، ثم أعلن

ضمها لأملاكه حتى وفاته فى العام 796م .


لم تقف عداءات البابوية لأوفا فقد حرض البابا أدريان الأول ملك إيست إنجليا لمحاربة أوفا لعداوته لبابوية وللكنيسة

وللعقيدة الكاثوليكية ..

لقد جن جنون البابا خوفا على الكنيسة وعقيدتها وهنا أرسل إلى انجلترا عام 786م بعثة مسيحية على راسها أسقف أوستيا

المشهور بتجاربه التبشيرية فضلا عن محموعة أخرى من كبار رجال الدين المسيحى ، وهذه هى البعثة الأولى التى لم

ترسل البابوية إلى انجلترا مثلها من قبل ابدا ، مما يدل على خطورة الأوضاع المتردية التى وصلت إليها المسيحية فى

انجلترا ، ربما بسبب إسلام الكثيرين من النصارى .

أما بخصوص العملة فى عهد اوفا فكانت فى بداية حكمه عبارة عن علامة الصليب المسيحية على غحدى وجهى العملة ،

وعلى الوجه الثانى صورة الملك أوفا .

ثم فى اواخر عصره حملت العملة علامة ليست بالصليب ولكن مشابهة إلى حد ما وضعت بحجم صغير ثم تلاشت فى

السنوات الأخيره من عصره فضلا عن اختفاء صورته.

ثم قفز أوفا القفزة التى أرادها كى يمكن لدينه فنقش عبارات التوحيد الإسلامية على ديناره الذهبى فضلا عن اسم الملك أوفا

بالاتينية .

الغريب فى امر هذا الملك العظيم اننا نجد أن كافة المصادر والوثائق المعاصرة له والمتأخرة عنه لم تشر إلى الدينار ذى

الإشارات الإسلامية لا من قريب ولا من بعيد .


تسبب هذا الدينار الذى سكه الملك اوفا فى تحبر الباحثين لا سيما أهل الغرب منهم ومن ثم راحوا يتكهنون ليخرجوا لنا

اسبابا تثبت ان هذا الدينار ليس السبب فى إصداره إسلام أوفا .

وجاءت الاسباب التى طرحوها على النحو التالى :

أولا : أن السبب فى سك هذا الدينار هو رغبة الملك اوفا فى دفع الضريبة المقررة عليه سنويا للكنيسة الرومانية والمعروفة

باسم بنس بطرس .
ثانيا : أن ضرب هذا الدينار جاء إشباعا لحالة نفسيه انتابته ، وتحقيقا لرغبة جامحة سيطرت عليه .
ثالثا : ذهب البعض إلى أن السبب فى سك هذا الدينار هو رغبة الملك اوفا فى إيلام البابوية .
رابعا : وذهب البعض إلى أن السبب هو رغبة اوفا فى الشهرة والظهور والتفاخر بين اقرانه من الملوك .
وأخيرا وبعد حالة من اليأس ذهب البعض إلى أن هذا الدينار زوره البعض وأقحم عليه اسم الملك اوفا ، ومن ثم نسب إليه

زورا وبهتانا
